[Gpg4win-devel] ClawsMail hangs signing if card is present

yes.

I thought it was a problem of Claws Mail since being locked is
a rather common state of this betaesque piece of software (e. g.
while fetching mails, closing folders, ...) and there is no problem
signing with gpg2 on the command line.

But replacing pinentry-qt4 with pinentry-w32 solves the problem.
