I decided to use this as an opportunity (hah) to switch to Outlook 2007 since I've been putting that off for far too long now. I de-installed 1.9.8 and Outlook 2003, rebooted, installed Outlook 2007 and then GPG4Win 1.9.8. The basic functions seemed to work, but I could no longer access any mail in secondary mailboxes ("Cannot open this item. You do not have sufficient permission..."). Noticing that 1.9.9 was out I de-installed 1.9.8, rebooted and installed 1.9.9 - same problem. A quick downgrade (and reboot) to 1.1.3 and everything works as expected. Am I the first to try this setup? Is there anything I can do to help identify the problem, keeping in mind that I can't spend all day doing a de-install, re-install, de-install, re-install cycle - I have to get some work done or the boss will complain ;) Thanks -- Please keep list traffic on the list. You don't need to import the keys from Gpg4win into Enigmail. Both Enigmail and Gpg4win use the same tool to store and retrieve keys (as well as to do encryption and decryption), which is GnuPG itself. It seems like your Enigmail doesn't know where to find Gpg4win's installation of GnuPG. In Thunderbird, if you choose OpenPGP|Preferences the 'OpenPGP Preferences' dialog should appear with the Basic tab selected. Inside the 'Files and Directories' box you should see some text which reads something similar to "GnuPG was found in C:\Program Files\GNU\GnuPG\gpg.exe". The location listed should be where GnuPG's gpg.exe program (installed by Gpg4win) was installed. If the location is incorrect or if it's not there at all then enter the correct location in the 'Override with' text box. Enigmail should then work successfully with GnuPG and should find all the necessary keys. - -- MarkR PGP public key: http://www.signal100.com/markr/publickey Key ID: C9C5C162 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAkk7nBMACgkQJQGogsnFwWJw8wCfX3YNQI1gvemr1k33B/Qpnl0c NTgAoJmsIHx7vi0kUqoAulzHfTLuKo5E =3pYh -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- From castellan2004-gpg at yahoo.com Sun Dec 7 13:53:01 2008 From: castellan2004-gpg at yahoo.com (Subba Rao) Date: Sun, 7 Dec 2008 04:53:01 -0800 (PST) Subject: [Gpg4win-users-en] GPG4Win 1.9.[89], Outlook 200[37], Vista - not quite working In-Reply-To: <493B9C13.4010307@signal100.com> Message-ID: <364928.67016.qm@web30804.mail.mud.yahoo.com> Thank you for replying.? You should not import the keys into Enigmail's key management. There is no need to do this. If WinPT can successfully list the keys then Enigmail's key manager should also see them without doing anything else. > The command line option that enigmail is using (from the log file is): > C:\Program Files\GNU\GnuPG\gpg.exe --charset utf8 --batch --no-tty > --status-fd 2 --with-fingerprint --fixed-list-mode --with-colons > --list-secret-keys - From the path above and looking at the screenshot you attached, it looks to me like Enigmail is finding and running GnuPG correctly but GnuPG is crashing. I don't know what the cause of the crash is but what I would do to bypass it is to download the Windows binary of the latest version of GnuPG from ftp://ftp.gnupg.org/gcrypt/binary/gnupg-w32cli-1.4.9.exe and install that to "C:\Program Files\GNU\GnuPG1". I'd then set Enigmail to use that installation of GnuPG instead of the one installed by Gpg4win. That should work ok. - -- MarkR PGP public key: http://www.signal100.com/markr/publickey Key ID: C9C5C162 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAkk79p4ACgkQJQGogsnFwWKK3wCdE2FNNH0ydmt6CMthJ398rQS8 R8QAoI+7MDJ6DcSRBnS6T8OMA3k3L0B3 =3zJB -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- From bernhard at intevation.de Tue Dec 9 15:58:08 2008 From: bernhard at intevation.de (Bernhard Reiter) Date: Tue, 9 Dec 2008 15:58:08 +0100 Subject: [Gpg4win-users-en] Gpg4win-users-en Digest, Vol 30, Issue 9 In-Reply-To: <200812062143.mB6LhvM02765@anon.securenym.net> References: <200812062143.mB6LhvM02765@anon.securenym.net> Message-ID: <200812091558.09277.bernhard@intevation.de> Am Samstag, 6.
