I don't think you missed anything. I don't see any issue here. GpgEX works on your 64bit system I guess. IMHO there is no particular gain for GpgEX if it would use 64. I just overwrote the files related to GPG 1.4.7 with the files from GPG 1.4.9 (maybe if you can install v 1.4.9 in another folder...). I took the files from another computer (it also belongs to me, so they should be safe to use). I have not had any problem, BUT, it doesn't guarantee you won't have problems...
