I am new to Gpgwin/Gpgol. I am running the latest version 2.0.1 on a Windows XP Pro machine with Outlook 2003. I would like to sign some of my outgoing emails but I am not sure how to do this when Word is my default email editor. I like using this editor as I like the spell-check which is not available when I use a plain editor. One option appears to be to select in the Gpgol options to "Sign new messages by default". However, if there is a particular message which I do not want to sign it does not appear to be possible to send the message without signing it. This option appears to require a key for all new emails and does not give the option to send without signing. This would be a useful feature. Better yet, can anyone tell me if it is possible to use Word as the email editor in Outlook and to sign the outgoing email? Unfortunately the simple asnwer is: No, it is not possible. We would need to add crypto support to Word to make it work. Salam-Shalom, Werner -- Die Gedanken sind frei. I've been using gpg4win for ages now with claws-mail. In a recent upgrade (I believe when Kleopatra was introduced?), pinentry.exe rather than the CM plugin's edit box, started taking passphrase input which I'm guessing is a good and expected thing. But for the life of me, I can't seem to be able to have my passphrase cached. So every time I send an email, pinentry.exe pops up and wants me to type my rather long passphrase again. I was hoping to have it cached for at least 30-40 minutes, maybe an hour. Changing the setting in CM's preferences doesn't seem to help and let me to deduce that this setting is no longer taken from the plugin's preferences. Any ideas what setting/configuration or application I can edit/use to have the passphrase cached and thus make my life a little more romantic with gpg? You are now using GnuPG 2 which must use the gpg-agent with its passphrase caching capability. > me to type my rather long passphrase again. I was hoping to have it > cached for at least 30-40 minutes, maybe an hour. The default caching time is 10 minutes. o can change that eitehyr directly in the gpg-agent config file or easier with Kleopatra's or GPA's preference dialog. Use the gpg-agent tab. (Ideally reports for the component should go to the issue tracker of that component, for Claws this is: http://www.thewildbeast.co.uk/claws-mail/bugzilla/index.cgi ) I've send a copy to Colin, who is one of the Claws windows developers and might be able to give you a hand with this issue. You've probably (mistakenly) set that for the 'show ruler' hot key. To remove it, select the Tools/Show ruler menu item and hit the 'delete' key. Consider turning off 'enable customisable keyboard shotcuts' in the prefs (Other/miscellaneous) to prevent yourself from doing something that again. with regards Paul -- "Thanks to his green candle, the 'Pataphysician can lighten our darkness."
