I do only rarely use my X.509 email certificate.

I have just re-checked decryption of an older message sent to my own
email address once being encrypted with my X.509 certificate (2048 bit
RSA with SHA1). I can confirm that Claws Mail decrypts the S/MIME
encrypted message without problems. I am using Claws Mail 3.9.3 but can
confirm, this holds for versions since 3.9.0.

One point you might check: How did you create the certificate? I once
created it with OpenSSL. I never tried to use gpgsm or Kleopatra for it.

Regards,
Peter
