[Openvas-discuss] Cannot attach to remote openvassd instances, but local scans possible

Hi,

I am able to run local scans using openvas 3.x from the opensuse build
service repo.

If I try to attach a remote host on my network, I get the following error:

root at w00den-server:/# openvassd -a 192.168.0.100
All plugins loaded
bind() failed : Cannot assign requested address
root at w00den-server:/#

This also happens on my main host (192.168.0.100) attaching to my
server (192.168.0.103), both of which are running Ubuntu.

I can however attach to 127.0.0.1 just fine (openvassd -a 127.0.0.1).

Has anyone run into this before?
