I also removed the following plugins from distribution in Debian due to a lack of any kind of license in the file: apache_username.nasl, smb_hotfixes.inc I know we talked about smb_hotfixes.inc in the past. It has been readded into OpenVAS since but nobody has cared to add a proper license header to it so it still looks non-free to me. I talked with Joey briefly about this and my recommendation is to simply patch out anything that worries the Debian people. Simply remove anything and then it should be accelerated. I agree with Jan, this is probably the best solution for the time being. On a related note, I talk to the Ubuntu MOTUs (packagers) recently and -libnasl and -server have been added to the upcoming 9.04 release (jaunty) when they synced with Debian sid on Dec 25th. They will include -plugins as well once sid picks it up, so this is one more reason to get it into sid rather sooner than later. Looks like the source of the problem is, that Javier did the last commit to svn, which related to debian packaging, on 2008-08-22 04:53:29. So he probably also didn't checked it out and the packages are not based on latest svn. This might be because I have missed something, actually, the fact that the maintainer had changed to openvas-distro-deb at wald.intevation.org and coordination was being done in this list. I really had no idea that the list was being used to coordinate Debian packaging or that Joey had made uploads to the package. This is partly because I either have missed (or did not receive) any information from Tim/Joey related to this and because I didn't check (before I uploaded 2.0) that there had been previous uploads from somebody else (since the maintainer was changed I did not receive any upload emails either). This is certainly a mistake on my behalf, I've been off for a while due to Real Life and when i uploaded the 2.0 release I based it off my latest uploads not knowing that there were changes to the packages. I should have checked the packages @ Debian before. Joey, this was in no way intentional. I hope you accept my apologies. I will try to repair the damages and make a reupload restoring all the changes you introduce and I missed. Quite sincerely, I think I was doing the best for OpenVAS by uploading the 2.0 release ASAP. I checked my email before in order to make sure nobody was working on it before. Had I been aware that either you or Tim had made changes I would have contacted you first. Really, I apologise. Javier
