Hi Jim,

To fix ruler fonts see: /usr/local/lib/skencil/Sketch/Base/config.py
Something like in 380-390 lines. Just use name of any installed font. xfontsel 
tool is useful for such procedure to get correct font description. Raster 
fonts is a best choise for Skencil, because Tk <8.5 doesn't support font 
antialiasing.

Skencil is more similar to CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator than any CADs.
