From aheinecke at gnupg.org Thu Feb 1 08:47:44 2024 From: aheinecke at gnupg.org (Andre Heinecke) Date: Thu, 01 Feb 2024 08:47:44 +0100 Subject: [Gpg4win-announce] Gpg4win 4.3.0 released Message-ID: <15809616.Emhk5qWAgF@teutates> Hello, Gpg4win version 4.3.0 is released! https://www.gpg4win.org/download.html Version 4.3.0 is not a security critical release, but contains several new features and larger changes. If gpg --card-edit was used on the command line to generate new keys for a smartcard with Version 4.2.0, this might have left an unprotected copy of the encryption key on your disk when the backup option was chosen. For users that have used that command there is more information available on: https://gnupg.org/blog/20240125-smartcard-backup-key.html Kleopatra: A new mail viewer mode has been added, allowing crypto mails received by mail clients without PGP/MIME or S/MIME support to be decrypted. This means that you can open an SMIME.p7m file or openpgp-encrypted-message.asc attachment with Kleopatra, and it will be displayed as a mail. For the full list of changes please refer to: https://www.gpg4win.org/change-history.html It is important to us that Gpg4win continues to be available as Free Software which can be downloaded anonymously without costs. Because we know that this is the only way for some people to get a software product which enables them to protect their communication. As Gpg4win maintenance needs to be funded nevertheless, we recommend that you set the price for yourself that shows the value of Gpg4win. For use with official documents with VS-NfD / EU / NATO RESTRICTED classification gnupg.com offers the option to obtain the approved GnuPG VS-Desktop version. With best regards your Gpg4win Development Team P.S. Apologies for the delayed release announcement on the announcement mailing lists. This was unintentional. -- GnuPG.com - a brand of g10 Code, the GnuPG experts. g10 Code GmbH, Erkrath/Germany, AG Wuppertal HRB14459 GF Werner Koch, USt-Id DE215605608, www.g10code.com. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
