[Gpg4win-devel] Roadblocks for Gpg4win 2.1beta1

Friends of Gpg4win-Development,

as you know we did aim for a version 2.1 a while ago,
but we had to turn around and release 2.0.3 first because of the printed 
version of the book and a regression in 2.0.2.
Still 2.0.3 has some issues.

Trunk to become 2.1 already has a number of improvements in Kleo and the 
backend, but still currently has major problems 
which block a beta release of it. 

Most painful right now:
gpg4win-2.1.0-svn1484 + kleo 2.1.0-svn1142590 cannot import S/MIME 
certificates for this reason. Werner aims to look at this within the next 
weeks so we can say about how much effort it will be to fix this problem.

Background: The following https://issues.kolab.org/issue4302 (Kleo keylisting 
hangs after using Kleo for a while) made it clear that there was a long 
standing defect with file handles on windows. It took us a while to get to 
this point and we need to resolve this before we really can make progress
with the development again.

We started to track Kleo issues within the Kolab Issue tracker, here is a 
prioritised list for Kleo and Gpg4win:
