The Gpg4win versions are tested together so it is a good idea
to install them together. The 1.9.x versions need Gnupg2.

I think you can do that, but watch the PATH and registry settings.

From GNU/Linux I know that gnupg1 and gnupg2 usually work nicely on the same
set of keyrings. Duplicating thus seems like an extra hassle to me.
I cannot guarantee it, so keeping backups is always a good idea.
