[Inteproxy-devel] Installing InteProxy as a Windows Service and following through

Dear involved,
I'm using InteProxy to reach an SSL-authenticated WMS provider from
OpenLayers browser -WMS-client. It would be convenient to install
InteProxy as a proper Windows service thus providing better server-like
functionality. Partially I have already achieved this by using
instsrv.exe and srvany.exe as instructed in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/137890, but the problem arises with the
SSL-authentication procedure, i.e. inputting login/password: the
InteProxy-procedure is in custody of "system" user, ergo the
"login-popup" is unreachable for mundane users or anyone. Will InteProxy
be developed further to tackle this, or better yet, does a solution
exist already? Maybe default credentials could be supplied for instance
in the "inteproxy.cfg" eliminating the need for user interaction
altogether? This would also solve the problem of having to re-enter
login/password manually on the event of system reboot.

Using certificates for authentication is not an option.

Humble fan of Your software,
Mikko Aspiala
Systems Designer
