what could be helpful is my instruction how to fix the problem on Mandriva.

   Skencil needs to know which fonts are available.
  The first three setions in the user Guide explain it pretty concious:
  http://www.nongnu.org/skencil/Doc/usersguide-4.html

  X11 name and file name must match, the sfd files take care of this.

  Now, for converting a text object into curves, Skencil needs the 
  font geometry files, too. So the directories containing the font files,
  specific to Mandriva should be into Sketch/Base/config.py

Of course, the .sfd files for Fedora probably have to look differently.
I have found my solution is playing around with their settings and
comparing their contents to what xlsfont outputs.
The tool check-skencil-sfds.py from
https://wald.intevation.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=41&group_id=5&atid=103
can help a lot with it.

Can you presicley point to the RPM?
It would be best if this RPM for Fedora would be corrected.
Maybe you can file a bug report to the Fedora people?
