We need more information to answer that question.
What kind of key? Best is an example that you link. (Those certificates are
public anyway aren't they`? ;) )

so you can enable some developers verbose output.
For importing a certificate I suggest to try this on the command line with
gpg2.exe -vvv --import YOURKEY.xyz
