Thunderbird works great with gpg4win! I've used it for many years without
ever encountering any problems.
You need the enigmail addon, and possibly a translation if you don't want
to have the gpg-menus in English.
The combination Thunderbird-Enigmail-GPG4Win is well integrated and most
functionality will be accessible directly from within Thunderbird, there
are many options in the menus. I greatly recommend it.
One possibility to try to solve the outlook problem is to reinstall gpgol
perhaps you never installed it, or some problems occured during
installation.
