Greetings.
I'm having several problems and I can't tell if they're related or
if they're separate problems, and I'd be very grateful for any
assistance.
Previously I was using GnuPG v1.4.9 and Enigmail on Windows 7
Ultimate (x64) with no problems, so my initial setup should be good
(public/private keys exist, GPG home directory set, etc). I
uninstalled 1.4.9 and installed gpg4win v2.2.1 (validity confirmed
by GPG signature and sha1sum).
The first problem is that, after the install, all of the gpg4win
Windows shell extensions that I've tried so far (ex: "Sign and
encrypt", etc) cause Explorer to stop responding/crash. I've
repeatedly uninstalled and reinstalled using the defaults, but still
the shell extensions cause a crash.
The second, possibly-related problem is that after the upgrade
Enigmail says it can't find the Enigmime service. Uninstalling,
reinstalling, and the other suggestions I've seen don't help, and I
don't see anything jump out at me from the logs, so I'm wondering if
some core component that all these tools rely is not installed properly.
I've tried everything I can think of, and web searching hasn't
brought me any luck; do any members of this community have any ideas
for things I can try?
Thank you much,
-Neil
