Right now, there is no automatic way of being updated.
What kind of update way would you expect, a microblogging entry
or an email to one of the lists?

Oh, good that you've noticed it. 

@Jochen: Can you reproduce this one? Do we have an issue or do we list known 
problems with the beta versions?
